- 1st development for Roompot in France
- A beautiful coastal location in Languedoc-Roussillon
- First guests in the Mediterranean in 2022
Goes, Thursday 21 January 2021 – The Roompot's 50th holiday park in France promises to be a very special one. For the first time in its history, Roompot will open and operate its own park under the French flag. The development of the Roompot park Qurios Le Grau d'Agde on the Mediterranean coast will start this year, and the park will be able to welcome its first guests as early as next year.
Bonjour la France
Roompot will add a 50th park in its French portfolio next year. For the first time in the history of Europe's second largest provider of holiday parks, this time it is not a partner park, but the first holiday park in France that Roompot will open and operate itself.
The opening of its own French park is a (logical) strategic step for Europe's leading coastal player. The land of baguettes, wine and cheese is a very popular holiday destination among the Dutch, Germans and Belgians, who also spend more than 13 million nights at Roompot each year. In addition – and not unimportantly – France is also the most visited holiday destination among its own 67 million inhabitants. With the opening of a new park under the Roompot flag, the French public will become acquainted even faster with the quality and comfort that Roompot already guarantees in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Beautiful region and ideal accessibility
In its search for a unique, sunny and idyllic location on the Mediterranean coast, developer INLeisure landed in the fishing village of Le Grau d'Agde near the popular resort of Cap d'Agde in the Languedoc-Roussillon. Besides sun, sea and beach, the region offers many charming villages and beautiful cities such as Béziers, Montpellier and the walled historic Carcassonne that guests will love to visit. The many charming markets with tasty local products and the many wine estates that unite the region complete that wonderful holiday feeling.
Furthermore, the region is very easy to reach, whether one prefers a car (A75 and A9), high-speed train (Montpellier) or plane (Béziers and Montpellier).
Quality, luxury and comfort united in a beautiful place under the sun
More than a year before the opening, it is already clear that the new Roompot park Qurios LeGrau d'Agde will distinguish itself from the typical campsites and bungalow parks in the region in many ways.
Flanked by the sun-drenched Mediterranean Sea and the idyllic Hérault River, Roompot could not dream of a more beautiful location for the future park where guests will quickly feel at home. Developer INLeisure, the architects and Roompot opted for a landscape design with winding paths and beautiful planting that will give all guests the necessary privacy and an instant beach – or even lagoon – feeling in the midst of nature.
The high-quality and appealing Roompot holiday park Qurios Le Grau d'Agde will include just under 100 contemporary lodges that will welcome guests in all luxury and comfort. This experience and attention to detail is of course reflected in the choice of materials, the furnishings and all the amenities that make a holiday home a high-quality, luxurious and comfortable home.
With great attention to the individual holiday experience of its guests and the increasing demand for quality, luxury and comfort, Roompot extends the level of the homes – and the park in general – to the service and appropriate facilities that guests expect from such a park. A brasserie with a delicious menu rich in local products, a mini shop, a lovely kid's area and a (heated) outdoor pool complete the park and encourage guests to also enjoy the fantastic surroundings and, once back home, to share the most beautiful holiday stories with friends and acquaintances.
Further expansion for Roompot
The opening of its own park in France is a strategic choice for Roompot. From its leading position in the Netherlands and as number two in Europe, it announced in June 2020 its ambition to become the largest provider of holiday parks in Europe. Europe's absolute coastal player wants to achieve this goal through the development of new own parks, acquisitions and partnerships.
Last year, Roompot announced no less than 51 parks. In early 2020, it reported that the 74 Beach Villas at Hoek van Holland, the 90 beach houses in Julianadorp and Duinresort Dunimar would be rented out via Roompot as of 1 January 2021. The largest provider of holiday homes in the Netherlands also revealed that it would be opening a new park in Wijdenes and in Someren this year, while in Eksel, Belgium, it is realising a new nature park that will also welcome its first guests this year. In Belgium, Roompot is also busy with the preparations for a new park in Oudenaarde. Just after the summer, it announced that it was taking over Qurios and its 4 existing and 5 planned parks, including the new Qurios Gulpen.
In December, the announcement followed that Roompot is expanding its offer with 27 parks in France and 8 in Spain. In total, Roompot offers over 180 parks.
The announcement of the Roompot park Qurios Le Grau d'Agde is the first for 2022 and kicks off the many announcements Roompot has in store this year.
Already 49 parks in France
In addition to existing and future developments in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, the Roompot offering in France has expanded exponentially in recent years. In 2020, Roompot's guests discovered 19 new parks. At the end of last year, another 27 parks in France were added, including these 6 bungalow parks.
Roompot has the ambition to open several new parks in the South of France with developer INLeisure. The Roompot park Qurios Le Grau d'Agde is thus the first in a row of announcements that could follow in the near future.
When developing these parks, a unique location and the ability to offer (different types of) high-quality and comfortable holiday accommodation are at the top of the list of conditions.
3rd Qurios park in development
Roompot holiday park Qurios Le Grau d'Agde is the 3rd development of a Qurios park under the Roompot flag. In Callantsoog, Roompot expects to welcome the first guests this spring, which is also the case for the new park in Gulpen. The development of Qurios le Grau d'Agde will start this year so that it will be ready for next year's summer season.
